Small-town railroad worker Homer Flagg (Lewis) sighs away his days dreaming of a better life in the big city. After exposure to a supposedly fatal dose of nuclear radiation, his absurdly incompetent doctor (Martin) informs him that he has only weeks to live. Sensing a scoop, a scrappy newspaper reporter (Janet Leigh) transforms Homer into a national celebrity, whisking him (and, of course, his doctor too) away on an all-expenses-paid trip to New York.

You’re Never Too Young was the fourteenth of sixteen Martin and Lewis comedies released during their ten-year partnership. It was produced at the height of their highly publicised feud, when the pair were barely on speaking terms.

This eye-popping satire of 1960s moral panic follows struggling painter Rick Todd (Martin) and his roommate, comic-book mad aspiring writer Eugene Fullstack (Lewis). On a mission to find success amidst a bloodthirsty comic book boom, Todd draws inspiration from his roommate’s nightly screaming fits.

Lewis plays crazed cinephile Malcolm Smith who, after winning a shiny new car at a raffle, plans to drive to Hollywood to meet his beloved Anita Ekberg. When con artist Steve Wiley (Martin) claims the prize with a forged ticket, naive Malcolm is thrilled to have gained both a car and a friend. But as the pair set off for Hollywood, Steve bends over backwards to rid himself of his irritating new companion.
